Static sites

The product site and Help Center use no advertising cookies, third-party trackers, remote analytics or externally hosted fonts. Reading articles requires no login. Browser language is used to suggest a translation without automatic redirects. Language choice stays in the URL, not cookies/localStorage. Search works locally with a downloaded index. Hosting may keep access logs as described in Privacy: no trackers does not mean no server logs.

Necessary app storage

Windows stores preferences and message/image caches in %APPDATA%\Nuvlek and %LOCALAPPDATA%\Nuvlek. Session tokens are encrypted by Windows DPAPI. Sign out deletes the session. Uninstalling removes the app; caches can be cleared through Settings › Advanced › Clear cache. Clearing a cache is not account deletion or subscription cancellation. Updates download automatically in the background and ask you to restart.

External providers and choices

Stripe Checkout/Identity, social login and connections open provider sites with their own necessary cookies and privacy notices. No provider tracking script is embedded here. Blocking cookies can stop external login/payment; consult the provider without disabling security. If optional storage or analytics is added, we will update this notice and request consent where required before activation.

Verified guardian and teen confirmation

A legal guardian must be an adult verified by Stripe Identity with a document and selfie, whether approving with an account or an email link. Accepting a request alone does not activate supervision: the link stays awaiting verification, with the most restrictive controls, until verification is complete. The teen must also confirm who the guardian is before the link takes effect. A linking code has 12 characters, displayed as XXXX-XXXX-XXXX, valid for 24 hours. Nuvlek keeps only the verification result (yes/no), date and birth year, not the document, selfie or full birthdate from the check. Never send identity documents to support. A return URL or message saying the browser returned from Stripe is not proof of verification.
